Central North Dakota Fishing Guide
North Dakota Fishing Guide Reports
November 21, 2017 - Central ND has some ice, but "good" safe ice is still to come. My suggestion - wait until the next spell of cold nights to make more ice and have a good 5-8" of ice to walk on. My son and I checked some local ice conditions close to Valley City...

North Dakota Fishing Guide – Where Do You Start?
North Dakota now has more than 420 fishing waters that have public access and some degree of management by ND Game and Fish Department. With over 100 good options in central ND, there is a lot to offer! Many of these lakes are 100-2000 acres and full of life. It’s a dream for a North Dakota fishing guide to call a workplace. While I spend much of my time chasing walleyes, these lakes have abundant northern pike, small mouth and large mouth bass, white bass, crappies and bluegill, and even some bullheads, ha! The water table in ND is fairly high and has been this way for approximately 25 years. This in turn has created many of these new fisheries. Many lakes are 10-12 feet deep maximum, but with this new water is exceptional food and fast growth rates of the fish that thrive here. The beauty of these lakes is magnificent with bird life and animals galore. Many clients are astonished of all the wildlife and birds that seldom see an angler. If your looking for some solitude and fishing off the beaten path, central ND is a blessing. I routinely find my boat the only vessel on these waters and finding gullible cooperative fish is so much fun. Some notable waters are: Lake Ashtabula, Twin Lakes, Fox Lake, Lake Lamoure, and many more. These lakes are seasonal, so contact me to talk about some great options for walleyes, pike, bass, panfish, and more. We may need to take a smaller boat to access some great fishing waters. The ice fishing is noteworthy as well. In fact, some of these gems are only accessible in the winter. It will get your heart rate up and make the excursion as physical as you’d like? Many of the best fishing spots require a bit of paddling, snow excavation, and fancy navigation! Of course, just spending time outside is good for your body and your brain. Being outdoors gives us plenty of vitamin D, makes you happier, and helps us age gracefully. You better call Fin-Hunters North Dakota Fishing Guide Service today!
